Sunset Motherhood Photoshoot in the Mendip Hills - Caroline and Nina

It was the warmest September evening when I met Caroline and Nina at Velvet Bottom, deep in the Mendips. It’s so peacefully quiet there, and one of my favourite spots for sunset photos. Caroline had got in touch as she’d wanted to capture Nina’s breastfeeding journey before it came to a close, but we ended up capturing so much more of their bond than just that. When it comes to 1 year olds, they never usually want to sit still. That’s where child-led approaches come into my work. We let Nina crawl and explore and captured her tiny hands grazing over every bit of untouched grass. Truly enjoying the present moment and letting ourselves be in the here and now.
