Documentary Family Photoshoot in Cheddar ~ Gemma and family

Sometimes you don’t need an epic location to capture your family in all its beauty. Sometimes the most special moments are captured in the the cosy comfort of your own beautiful home.

Gemma reached out to me to ask if I’d come and capture her families ordinary everyday magic one morning, and of course I was more than happy to come adventure with them. Gemma is one of the brains behind Adventure Babies, one of Bristol’s leading baby sensory classes, and it was an absolute joy to connect with a fellow woman working in a small business.

There’s something that feels so special about being invited into a families home to capture their mundane moments. To be let into that little slice of their everyday, a fly on the wall to watch the day unfold. I’m always thankful for the trust put in me to capture the moments in all their magic. We gently flowed through the morning, playing in the front room and pretending the bed was a trampoline before moving on to explore their gorgeous garden. Gemma told me she’d moved out of the city in the hopes of having more land, to grow their own food and have space for her dad to live alongside them. And boy has she done just that! Their greenhouse was overflowing with fruits and veggies, plants littering every inch. It was beyond inspiring, now only if I had the time and space to build my own…

This session was a reminder to me that you by no means have to adventure out into the wilderness to capture your family in all its perfection, and I’d absolutely love to document more stories in home. If this session speaks to you, please dont hesitate to get in touch!
